नदियों में मैं गंगा धार, कहा कृष्ण ने यही पुकार। गंगा में पाप धोयें न कि गन्दगी। गंगा रक्षा धर्म महान, गंगा देती जीवन दान। भार्इ बहना आगे आआ।, मां गंगा को मुक्त कराओ। गंगा को निर्मल रहने दो, गंगा को अविरल बहने दो। मत कहो इन्हें अमृतधारा, गंगा को गंगा रहने दो। गंगा स्नान करेगे, पूजन। जल-पान करेंगे। गंगा -जल स्वच्छ रहेगा। ऐसा श्रमदान करेगें। घर-घर अलख जगायेगें हम। भागीरथी बचायेगें हम। कैसा होगा देश हमारा। जब न होगी गंगा धारा। भगीरथी की यही पुकार। निर्मल हो गंगा की धार। पालीथिन न तट पर लाओ। पाप करो मत, मुक्ती पाओं।

समझ रहे क्या पानी है।।

शत बार करे तीरथ सब,
या जायें चारो धाम।
गंगा जल गन्दा करते,
तो पुण्य न आता काम।।

सुनो अरे हे भारत वासी,
मलिन सुधा की धारा है।
गंगा को भी बचा सके न,
हिमगिरि ने, धिक्कारा है।।

यदि हम चाहें निर्मल-अविरल,
बहती गंगा धारा हो।
बच्चा - बच्चा बने भगीरथ,
हर-हर गंगे नारा हो।।

हिमगिरि की चोटी से,
गंगा ने हमें पुकारा है।
मेरी रक्षा करो सपूतों,
टूट रही अब धारा है।

गंगा मइया जीवन दइया,
इन्हें बचाओ बहना-भइया।
भारत माता की ललकार,
निर्मल हो गंगा की धार।

नदी नहीं न पानी है।
गंगा स्वयं भवानी है।।
दरष-परष, पूजन-जलपान।
ये चारो, गंगा-स्नान।।

गंगा नदी नहीं है, गंगा नही है पानी।
गंगा हमारी मां है, गंगा है जिंदगानी।।
जो करता गंगा तट साफ,
उस प्राणी के कटते पाप।

धर्म, संस्कृति, दर्षन, ज्ञान।
निर्मल गंगा, सबकी शान ।
जब न होगी धारा अविरल।
कैसे होगीं गंगा निर्मल ।।

Ganga Exhibition A Research Extension And Environmental Awareness Programme

The Ganga Yamuna Jal Pradushan Nivaran Pradarshani is a research extension and environmental awareness programme to "create large scale awareness and knowledge generation" about prevention, conservation and management of river Ganga. The exhibition enlightened the people about the significance of Ganga and effects of pollution to the Living & non-living community.
The Ganga Exhibition is being organised under the banner of U. P. Research Association, University of Allahabad, Allahabad founded by Dr. D. N. Shukla, Professor and Ex-Head, Department of Botany, University of Allahabad, Allahabad since 1981 to date (last 39 years) on the bank of River Ganga near Sangam at Prayag (Allahabad).
It is first environmental awareness programme (since 1981 to date) which emphasis problems of Ganga and motivate local people to save pious status of river Ganga. It is one of the largest environmental awareness programme in all over the world, run for last 39 years for three long months continuously in world’s largest fair Kumbha/Ardh Kumbh/Magh Mela in India. More than 40 crore people have visited the exhibition for the last 39 years from India and abroad.

Eighteen major canal structures on the Ganga river system irrigate about 7 million hectares of agricultural land.
It includes part of the territories of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and China (Tibet).
It had the largest grass sown area of nearly 50 million hectares and caters for nearly 37% of lndia's total population.
Within India, it includes the states of Haryana, Uttranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachel Pradesh, and Delhi, and covers more than one quarter of India’s total area.
The Ganga Basin is incredibly fertile and, at present, about one in every 12 people in the world (8%) lives in its catchment area.
The Ganga is the 15th largest river of Asia and the 39th largest in the world.
The Ganga River flows in a basin inhabited by 560 million people, making it the most populous river basin in the world. This basin measures about one million square kilometres and has a mean annual flow of over 400,000 million cubic kilometres.
Total length of about 2525 Km. in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent.
The basin has nearly 700 towns and cities of which 29 have a population greater than 100,000 people do and 23 have population between 50,000 and 100,000 people containing approximately 37% of the country’s population or nearly 560 million people.
The basin has a population of 560 million (apporx.).
